Overview.

Kavango is one of the regions in Namibia having high prevalence rate of HIV and AIDS. The region has about 300 000 inhabitants. It stretches from the east, where it borders with Caprivi, the west where it ends in the Oshikoto and Ohangwena Regions respectively and border with Otjozondjupa region in the south.

Statement: The region strives to reduce the rate of HIV and AIDS infection at all levels aiming to have a healthy nation.

Awareness Week June 2007

Most of the schools participated durig the Aids awarenees 18-22 June 2007 but five clusters in defferent circuit took were monitored.The cluster monitored are Nejuva Jss,Sauyemwa Cs,Ngondo Ps,Karukuta Ps and Nyangana Cs.In Ngondo cluster a cluster with nine(9) schools,the day was officially opened by the Inspector of education Mr.Kamwi who delivered a motivational and encouraging speech for school to take the HIV and AIDS activities seriuosly at school level and stregthening their AIDS clubs by using resources at their desposal.The whole day was full of intertainment from various schools in the cluster which varies from HIV and AIDS songs,drama,poems and traditional dances.Neyuva cluster the speech was delivered by 2 positive living speakers one of them the chairperson of Bridges o f Hope.The involvement of the tradditional leaders of that school community make the event more successfull because the Headman and some of the elders delivered their denamic speech too during this day.Many parents attended because the tradional leaders were involved by the School Management.Picture of the events can be viewed

Other activities that took place in the region are the refresher training workshop for WOH were the region have refreshed around 156 teachers for senior window. Training of 15 new facilitator's for MFMC in April in Caprivi region and the refresher training for the old MFMC facilitator as from 5-7 July 2007.
